Carolyn Sue (Morris) Laurie

Carolyn Sue Laurie (Morris) went home to Jesus on March 17, 2023, at age 89.

The family will host a time of visitation and fellowship from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 21, 2023, at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel.  Family and friends are invited to a funeral service at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Aaron Mitchell, pastor at Concho Baptist Church, officiating.  Interment will follow in the Cleveland Cemetery located at 351-399 County Road 206, Santa Anna, Texas 76837. Services are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W. Pecan Street, in Coleman.

Carolyn was born to E.C. and Ruby Morris on February 17, 1934, in Waxahachie, Texas. She attended North Texas State Women’s College as well as Arlington State where she excelled in Arts and Business.

Carolyn was a devoted wife and mother. She was proceeded in death by her parent’s E.C. and Ruby Morris, sister Betty Dunn and son James Dunn. She is survived by her husband Wesley L. Laurie, sister Judy McHenry and husband Tom, children Michael, Debra, Thomas, Kenneth, Billy and Scott. 17 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

Carolyn married her true love husband, Wesley Laurie, on July 7, 1977, in the American Consulate, U.S. Embassy in Tehran, Iran. Carolyn brought seven children into their marriage: Michael Dunn, Debra Boyet, James Dunn, Thomas Dunn, Kenneth Dunn, Billy Dunn, Scott Dunn.

Carolyn was a wonderful wife, nurturing mother, wonderful grandmother who was always there to love and discipline. Her favorite quote: “Give me sugar!!!”

“Wife/Partner/Friend/Mother” Sharing a life sounds easy, but it means sharing everything else, too. The good with the bad. The bitter with the sweet. That’s life. That’s love. That’s us. And we wouldn’t have it any other way.

Pallbearers will be Brandon Dunn, Casey Guinn, Will Dunn, Draven Delagarza, Chris Boyet, Kyle Boyet, Wyatt Dunn, Dylan Dunn, Bradley Dunn, Walker Boyet, Landon Boyet, Haiden Hale.
