Willie C. Gilbreath, 95, currently of Conroe, Tx, passed away on April 29, 2013. She was born April 1, 1918, in Rule, Tx, and lived most of her life in Coleman County, Tx. Her parents were Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Revel. Willie C. graduated from Santa Anna High School and then Howard Payne College in 1939. She married Herman Gilbreath in 1942 and lived in the Shields community for about 20 years before moving to Coleman. They were married for 47 A½ years prior to his death in 1989. Willie C. was a school teacher who taught in Shields, Mozelle, Leaday, Santa Anna, and Coleman.

She was preceded in death by her husband and her two sisters, Pauline Powers and Faye Williams. Willie C. will be sadly missed by her son Glenn Gilbreath and his wife Kallie of Conroe, Tx.; sister Gerene Rowe of Lubbock, Tx; brother Weldon Revel and his wife Lanelle of Canyon, Tx; sister-in-law Henrietta Gilbreath of Early, Tx; grandchildren Neal Gilbreath and wife Christel, and Kara Gilbreath Kenter and husband Dr. Jeremy Kenter; 1 great granddaughter, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Willie C. was a member of the Coleman First Baptist Church and a member of the Auditorium Sunday School class. She was also a member of the Coleman Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and NARFE for 25 years.

Visitation will be held from 1:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 5, 2011 at Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W. Pecan Street, Coleman, Texas. The service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday at the Coleman City Cemetery Pavilion with Rev. John Stanislaw officiating. Services are under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.
