Wesley Earl Preas, a beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away Friday, December 1, 2023, at the age of 67.

Born on April 9, 1956, in Borger, Texas to Allen Earl Preas and Billie Dean Pyles Preas, Wesley grew up in a close-knit community, fostering strong values and a deep appreciation for family and friends.

Educated at Abilene Cooper High School, Wesley obtained his high school diploma and embarked on a journey of discovery and hard work. Throughout his professional life, he showcased his versatile skills and dedication to the task at hand. Wesley's employment history reflected his resourcefulness, as he worked at Wester Trailer and in irrigation. He also lent his talents to McCorkle Monument Company and grave services, showcasing his ability to adapt and excel in diverse industries.

Wesley's warm smile and generous nature touched the lives of many. He enjoyed the thrill of riding motorcycles and shared his passion with others. Whether on the open road or casting a line while fishing, Wesley found solace in the simple joys of life. Above all, he treasured the company of his loved ones, seeking comfort and support from his family and friends during both joyous and challenging times.

Wesley is preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Allen Dean Preas.

He was a loving father to his daughter Stacy Cooley and husband Dean and cherished every moment spent with his grandchildren, Cameron Herrington, Dustin Cooley, Starr Bryan, and Kelsea Stump. He also adored his nine great-grandchildren. Wesley's love and guidance will forever be etched in their hearts. Wesley will be lovingly remembered by his sister-in-law, Rita Preas, and his aunt, Jo Ann Carroll, as well as many nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation at 1:00 p.m. followed by a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 14, 2023, at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with Chad Anders officiating.  Interment will follow in the Coleman City Cemetery.  Services are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W. Pecan Street, in Coleman.

Pallbearers will be Dean Cooley, Dustin Cooley, Cody Bryan, Michael Stump, Sonny Preas, and Jason Preas.
