Wesley Gerrod Davis

Wesley Gerrod Davis, 35, of Artesia, New Mexico, died Monday, March 25, 2013 at Carlsbad Medical Center in Carlsbad, New Mexico. A memorial service was held Friday, March 29, 2013 at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel in Coleman, Texas.

Wesley Gerrod Davis was born October 24, 1977 in Artesia to Stanley and Denise Buck Davis. He grew up in Artesia and graduated from Artesia High School. He worked in the oil field as a rough neck and a welder's helper. He loved hunting and fishing and was a member of First Baptist Church in Artesia.

Wesley is survived by his parents, Stanley and Denise Davis of Lubbock, Texas; his son, Phelan Davis of Lubbock, Texas; one sister, Mandy Riley of Houston, Texas; paternal grandparents W.G. and Mary Jane Davis of Artesia, New Mexico; nephews, Lincoln and Jackson Riley of Houston, Texas; aunts and uncles, Mike and Paulette Harris of Artesia, New Mexico, Twyla Davis of Artesia, New Mexico, John and Barbara Hobbs of Katy, Texas, Tommy and Alisha Buck of El Centro, California; numerous cousins, including Jawna Carlo and Chad Harris, both of Artesia, New Mexico.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Aston and Opal Buck.
