Talpa

Virginia "Ginger" Sneed, a beloved figure in her community and a cherished member of her family, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, with her family by her side. Born on July 31, 1941, in Coleman, Texas, Ginger grew up in Talpa and graduated from Coleman High School in 1959.

Throughout her life, Ginger was renowned for her many talents, particularly as a dedicated homemaker who excelled in both cooking and sewing. Her family fondly recalls many delightful meals prepared with love, as well as the beautiful dresses she crafted for her daughters, Suzanne and Jennifer. She was a loving and kind person, with a spirited personality that shone brightly in all her endeavors.

Ginger's passion for farm life was evident as she joyfully participated in raising registered quarter horses and cattle. Her hobby of collecting western memorabilia reflected her love for the region's culture. Whether tending to her plants in the yard or playing with her dogs, Ginger found happiness in the simple pleasures of life.

In addition to her homemaking skills, Ginger was actively involved in her community, serving as the founder of the Coleman County Cowgirls and previously holding the position of president of the Circle C Cattlewomen. Her numerous contributions to the community speak to her dedication and commitment to those around her. Ginger was also a member of First Methodist Church in Coleman where she was facilitator of the kitchen, helping prepare meals for church functions.

Ginger is survived by her husband, Bill Sneed of Talpa; her two daughters, Jennifer Short and husband Michael of Voss, and Suzanne Ryan and husband Rusty of Talpa. She was a proud grandmother, doting on her grandchildren Ashley Knowles and husband Dustin, Seth Ryan and wife Hannah, James Short, and Sarita Short. Ginger also cherished her role as a great-grandmother to Addison Knowles, Cooper Ryan, and Clay Ryan. Ginger is also survived by her loving brother, Mike Rush and wife Terry of Lacy, Washington.

Ginger is preceded in death by her parents, Raymond Blakely Rush and Frances Alberta Livingston; her sister, Peggy Martin; and her brother, Tommy Rush.

Her legacy of love, kindness, and community spirit will remain in the hearts of all who knew her.
