Veoma Maudine Fisher

March 3, 1925 — June 17, 2013

Veoma Maudine Fisher, 88, of Coleman, died Monday, June 17, 2013 at Brownwood Regional Medical Center. Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 20, 2013 at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel, 400 West Pecan Street, Coleman, with Dr. Don Northway officiating. Burial will follow in the Talpa Cemetery, under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.

Veoma Maudine Fisher was born March 3, 1925 in Valera, one of twelve children born to Earon Homer Monroe and Maude Chloe Akin Monroe. She grew in Talpa and graduated from Talpa High School. She married Elmer Loyd Fisher on August 28, 1944 in Forks, Washington. He preceded her in death on June 12, 2004. Mrs. Fisher was homemaker. She loved helping people and was very giving of herself. She was a member of Bible Baptist Church.

Survivors include one son, and daughter-in-law, Bobby and Tonja Fisher of Crandall; three grandchildren, Teresa Perez and husband, Elias, of Olton, Stanley Fisher and wife, Brandy, of Sulpher Springs, Tasha Hudson of Wilmer; five great grandchildren; five sisters, Mildred Barnes of Coleman, Billie Rouillard of Florida, Joyce Livingston of Abilene, Patsy Jackson of Coleman, Patricia Jones of Coleman; one brother, L.J. Monroe of Coleman and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, two sisters, Ruth Williams, Ruby Butler; three brothers, Weldon Monroe, Ardell Monroe and Melton Monroe.

Family visitation will be from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at Stevens Funeral Home.
