Traci Angela Tate, née Earp, departed this world on August 17, 2026, in Waco, Texas, leaving behind a legacy woven through years of vibrant connections, perseverance, and deep faith. Born on September 15, 1975, in the heart of Chicago, Illinois, the story of Traci’s life unfolds across cities and seasons, each chapter alive with the pulse of her open-hearted spirit.

From her earliest days, Traci’s journey reflected a restless curiosity and an eagerness to embrace life’s possibilities. Growing up not only in Chicago, but also in California and Abilene, she thrived in the kinetic energy of change, forming friendships and memories that would color her world. She graduated from Abilene High School in 1993.

Traci gave her energies with devotion as an optical technician, working for many years with both EssilorLuxottica and Target. With diligent care, she applied her talents to serve others, not just enhancing their vision, but brightening their days with the warmth of her presence. Colleagues and customers alike found her approachable, always eager to share a smile, never letting anyone feel like a stranger.

Her undeniable charisma shone brightest among those she loved. It was in Waco, Texas, on September 12, 2015, that she married Reginald Tate, sealing a bond built on laughter, mutual respect, and unwavering support. Her love radiated through her family, her beloved husband Reginald; her children, Alexa Earp, Evan Earp, and Hope Issah; and her brothers John Earp and wife Jaime and Charley Earp and wife Teresa. The cherished memories of her late father, Carlton Dell Earp, and her late mother, Sandra June Cooper Price, remain threads in the tapestry of her life, their influences echoing through her gentle strength.

To know Traci was to be embraced in her outgoing and loving personality. She brimmed with a friendliness that filled every room, making even casual encounters wondrously memorable. Traci never met a stranger, she saw each person as a potential friend—her conversations peppered with encouragement and genuine interest.

Yet perhaps what defined Traci most was her steadfast faith. She was a godly woman whose deepest joys sprang from prayer and the simple act of uplifting others. Her spirituality was never performative but rather intrinsic—a touchpoint for friends, family, and community members who found solace in her prayers and presence.

Music also played a central role in Traci’s journey. Possessed with a beautiful singing voice, she poured her heart into sharing this gift with her church, bringing comfort and inspiration to all who gathered to listen. Each note she sang carried the full measure of her kindness and hope—a melody that lingers even as her earthly song has ended.
