Susan Diane Myrick, whose spirit was as vast as the open road she traveled, passed away on October 17, 2025, in Coleman, Texas, at the age of 65. Born on June 26, 1960, in Athens, Texas, Susan’s journey began in a small town where she would later carve out her own unique path.
Susan took great pride in her career as a long-haul truck driver. After attending truck driving school, she became employed with Federal Express showcasing not only her skills but her unwavering dedication and determination. Later in her career, she found fulfillment driving a car hauler, transporting vehicles across the country. Susan’s profession was more than just a job, it was a testament to her adventurous spirit and her love for the freedom that the open road brought her.
In 2020, she moved from Terrell to Santa Anna, where she embraced a new chapter in her life. Throughout her years, her greatest joy came from being surrounded by her grandchildren. Susan cherished the moments spent with Caleb, Jason, Dalton, Savannah, Kash, and Wyatt, always bringing smiles and love into their lives.
A lifelong learner, Susan attended school in Athens and continued her education as she moved to Fort Worth during high school. Her passion for artistry shined through in her hobbies. She enjoyed making jewelry and engaging in bead work, which allowed her to connect deeply with her Choctaw and Chickasaw Indian heritage—a true reflection of her heart and soul.
Susan is survived by her loving family, including her children: Jason Shane Copeland of Terrell, Shannon Nicole Hindman and her husband Nathan of Tuscola, and Zackariah Levi Williams, along with his long-time companion Mary “Nikki” Parson of Santa Anna. She leaves behind her beloved mother, Ruth Pauline Gregory of Coleman and her brother, Devon Lee Barnett of Santa Anna. Additionally, she is remembered fondly by her step-sons, Jeremy Myrick and William Myrick.
Though Susan's heart now rests, the love and memories she created will forever resonate in the hearts of those who knew her. She was preceded in death by her father, Dale Barnett; her brother, Donald Joe Barnett; her husband, William Myrick; and her long-time companion, Teddy Mike Williams. Their memories are woven into the fabric of her life, a testament to the love she shared.
