Shirley Ann (Blair) Burrow

Shirley Ann Burrow, 84, of Coleman, died Thursday, December 10, 2020 at Coleman County Medical Center.  Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel, 400 West Pecan Street, Coleman, with Rev. David McLain, pastor of First Baptist Church in Santa Anna officiating.  Burial will be in the Coleman City Cemetery.  Services are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home.

She was born Shirley Ann Blair on February 14, 1936 in Valera to Emmett C. Blair and Myrtle Gertrude Crenshaw Blair.  Shirley grew up in Rockwood and Santa Anna, where she attended school and graduated from Santa Anna High School.  On October 20, 1959, Shirley married James Herman Burrow in Coleman.  He preceded her in death on May 2, 2003.

Shirley worked for Jinright Manufacturing for 15 years and later worked for Anthony’s for another 15 years.  She was an avid seamstress, often making clothes for her family and would jump right in to help during harvest time.  Shirley was a member of First Baptist Church in Santa Anna.

Shirley is joined in heaven by her parents; her husband, Herman; two sisters, Cherrie June Walker, Elizabeth Dodd; one brother, Wayne Blair and a grandson, Shane Howard.

She is survived by one son, Granvil Burrow and wife, Elizabeth, of Coleman; one daughter, Sheila Harrington of Coleman; one brother, Eurrell Blair and wife, Delma, of Santa Anna; two sisters, Carrie Mae Whitfield of Coleman and Maydell Jennings of El Campo.  Also surviving are four grandchildren, Gary Geeslin and wife, Monica, of Coleman, Faron Wallace of Coleman, Samuel Atkinson of College Station, Benjamin Atkinson of College Station; three great grandchildren, Christopher Baker, Connor Baker, Brandon Geeslin and several nieces and nephews.
