Sharon Kay Ellis, a cherished wife, mother, and devoted homemaker, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at Rising Star Nursing Center in Rising Star, Texas. Born on May 2, 1942, in Richland Springs, Texas, Sharon’s life was marked by love, dedication, and an enduring commitment to her family.
Sharon was raised in the close-knit community of Richland Springs and proudly graduated from Richland Springs High School. On July 15, 1961, she was united in marriage to Bryan Kent Ellis in her hometown, embarking on a lifelong journey together that was filled with love and shared memories. Sharon’s family was the cornerstone of her life, and she found immense joy and pride in all her roles as a wife, mother, and grandmother. Her loving and giving personality touched everyone around her, and she especially treasured her grandchildren, taking great delight in her promotion to Memo, a title she wore with pride and affection.

She also leaves behind ten grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild—a testament to the lasting legacy of love she nurtured through the generations. Sharon’s sister, Rachel Walker, and her husband Harold also remember her fondly.
She is preceded in death by her parents, James Lowell Lewis and Mary Faye Munselle Lewis; her beloved husband, Bryan Kent Ellis; three brothers, Billy Joe Lewis, Leroy Lewis, and Glen Lewis; two sisters, Diane Beckendorf and Marinel Lewis; and one granddaughter, Makenna Ellis.
A graveside service to honor and celebrate Sharon’s life will be held on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at 2:00 PM at the Burkett Cemetery Pavilion. Services are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W. Pecan Street, in Coleman.
