Sandra Sue Stewart Titsworth

Sandra Sue Stewart Titsworth, 76, of Coleman, died Thursday, May 11, 2017 at Coleman County Medical Center. A memorial service will be planned at a later date. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home, 400 West Pecan Street, Coleman.

She was born Sandra Sue Stewart on August 27, 1940 in Coleman to Osie Bailey Stewart and Lillie Corinne Huskisson Stewart. She grew up in Coleman and graduated from Coleman High School. She worked as a welder’s helper for Don Baber. She also worked for Watson-Copeland Dozier Service, were she became an explosives expert working with dynamite. She later worked for Brown and Root, once again as an explosives expert, doing dynamite blasting when Lake O.H. Ivie was being built on the Colorado River in Coleman County. She was also a cross country truck driver and a member of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include three children, Chris Titsworth and wife, Pat, of Valera, Luwanna Proctor and husband, Daniel, of Coleman, Ken Titsworth and wife, Merrill Huber, of Dodge City, Kansas; one sister, Mary Griffis of Coleman, one step-sister, Gail Loyd of Coleman; one sister in law, Sue Titsworth of Lake Coleman; seven grandchildren, Jason Titsworth, Kevin Avants, Ashley Dean, Elizabeth Smith, Jessica Savage, Pricilla Smith, Kolton Titsworth; eight great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and special care-giver, Maria Hurtado.

Besides her parents, Sandra was preceded in death by a sister, Jonnie Stewart and a brother-in-law, Mark Griffis.

Memorials in memory of Sandra may be made to the Coleman County Medical Center, 310 South Pecos, Coleman, Texas 76834, Abilene Hendrick Pulmonary Rehab, 1900 Pine Street, Abilene, Texas 79601, or the donor’s favorite charity.
