Rosalinda, or Rosie as she was known to many, De Los Santos, a beloved friend in her community and a cherished member of her family, passed away on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene, Texas. Born on September 25, 1947, in Coleman, Texas, Rosie devoted her life to caring for others, exemplified through her dedicated career in Home Healthcare. With immense pride and joy, she took care of her patients, embodying the compassion and commitment that defined her work. Her compassion and attentiveness made a lasting impact on those she served.
Having grown up in Coleman, Rosie attended local schools before pursuing further education at Brownwood Commercial College and nursing school in Waco. Her commitment to education and service remained a hallmark of her life, reflected in her active participation at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, where she was a proud member of the Guadalupana Society.
An engaging personality, Rosie never met a stranger and could strike up a conversation with anyone. She had a special talent for connecting with people, which only deepened her role as a family historian. As noted by her loved ones, losing Rosie is like losing a great piece of the family history. She enjoyed collecting cookbooks, reading, collecting family photos, and sending birthday cards to her family and friends. Rosie loved her pets and all animals, with her beloved dog, Coco, holding a particularly special place in her heart.
Rosie is preceded in death by her parents, George Martinez and Consuelo Galindo Martinez and Delia Martinez; her maternal grandparents, Felix and Luz Galindo; her paternal grandparents, Benito and Guadalupe Martinez; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
