Roberto Frausto Salazar, Sr.

Santa Anna

Roberto Frausto Salazar, Sr., age 91, of Santa Anna, passed away Wednesday, December 30, 2020, at his home, with his family by his side.  Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 2,  2021 in Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Joe Frausto officiating.  Interment will follow in the Santa Anna Cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home, Coleman.

Due to CoVid-19, the family requests no hugs or handshakes; rather, a “fist bump” will be just as special and heart-warming.  Also, please respectfully observe social distancing guidelines and the use of a face mask.

Roberto Frausto Salazar, Sr. was born July 22, 1929 in Santa Anna, Texas, a son of Alberto Salazar and Maria Frausto Salazar.  He grew up in Santa Anna and lived there his entire life.  On December 31, 1949 he married Maria Guadalupe Estrada in Acuna, Mexico and she preceded him in death on October 26, 2020, after 70 years of marriage.  Roberto worked for the Santa Fe Railroad for many years as a machine operator and trackman.   He was a hard worker who always provided for his family and he will be deeply missed by them.  He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Survivors include five daughters, Estella Longoria and husband Israel, Sr. of Santa Anna, Delma Sanford and husband Scott of Missouri City, Sylvia Rosalez and husband Eddie of Coleman, Norma Silva and husband Pete of Santa Anna, Elvia Rivera and husband Jeff of Santa Anna; four sons, Jose Torres and wife Kwan of Odessa, Robert Salazar, Jr. of Fort Worth, Juan Manuel Salazar of Santa Anna, Raul Salazar and wife Esther of Lubbock; 24 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; two brothers, Arturo Salazar and Benito Salazar both of Mexico; numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alberto and Maria Frausto Salazar,  a son, Javier Salazar, a brother, Manuel Salazar and a sister, Rosa Linda Salazar.
