Robert Lynn Sartain, affectionately known as Lynn, was born on April 21, 1956, in Santa Anna, Texas. He passed away peacefully on July 8, 2025, at Methodist Hospital in San Antonio, surrounded by his loving family.
Lynn was a gifted carpenter, whose skills and creativity brought new life to old things, reflecting his talent for restoration and craftsmanship. Alongside his carpentry, he also operated a trash and treasure resale shop, where he shared his passion for finding value in what others may not see.
Growing up in Coleman, Lynn attended school there, forming lasting bonds with the community that would support him throughout his life. He cherished his family deeply and greatly enjoyed spending time with them, creating memories that will be treasured by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Becky Sartain of Coleman; one daughter, Angie Lynn Merryman and husband Eddie of Greenwood; and one son, Trey Sartain of Camp Wood. Lynn was a proud grandfather to his beloved grandchildren, Payden Merryman and wife Rachel of Stanton, and Dawson Merryman and wife Abigail of Austin. He will also be remembered fondly by his siblings, Martha Wilkins and husband Dwayne of Choctaw, Oklahoma, Debra Green of Stanton, Tommy Sartain of Oklahoma, Leah Barnett of Oklahoma. He is also survived by his brother-in-law, Danny Barnett, in addition to numerous nieces and nephews who held a special place in his heart.
Lynn was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Lee Sartain and Geneva Geraldine Brooks Sartain, as well as one sister, Treva Barnett, and his stepson, Robert Lewis Flores, Jr.
A graveside service to honor Lynn's life will be held on July 12, 2025, at the Coleman City Cemetery Pavilion in Coleman, Texas. The service will begin at 11:00 AM, and all are welcome to join in remembrance of a man who touched the lives of many.
