Rickey Keas, a beloved member of the Brownwood and Coleman communities, passed away on May 8, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, creativity, and love. Born on May 13, 1961, in Brownwood, Texas, Rickey was a man of many talents and passions.
 
Throughout his life, Rickey wore many hats from owning Keas Construction and building homes in Brownwood and Coleman to showcasing his culinary skills as a chef at La Quistedor and working in the oil fields. His dedication to his various professions was evident in the exceptional quality of work he produced.
 
Rickey's love for collecting coins and knives, as well as his enthusiasm for hunting and fishing, brought him immense joy. These hobbies not only brought him personal satisfaction but also allowed him to connect with others who shared his interests.
 
Family was at the core of Rickey's being. He always held a special place in his heart for his mother Audrey Keas, whom he considered his rock and inspiration. His unwavering love for his family extended to his wife Jeane Wheat, whom he married on January 1, 1995, in Coleman, Texas. Rickey was proud to come from a large and loving family.
 
In the midst of our grief at Rickey's passing, we find solace in celebrating his life. He touched the hearts of many and will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
 
Rickey is preceded in death by his parents, Paris Leon Keas and Audrey Ellen Dorrough Keas; his beloved wife Jeane Keas; one brother Gerald Keas; and one sister Shirley Lou Dixon. He is survived by three children: Tosha Penney and husband Franky of Cherokee, Tabitha Keas and wife Kimberly Wills of Brownwood, Timothy Keas and wife Lori of Lubbock; two stepchildren: Jeffrey Herring and wife Charlotte of Slaton and Pete Herring of Slaton; eleven grandchildren; three brothers: Delbert Keas and wife Nita, G.L. Keas and wife Pam, Terry Keas and wife Laneta; and two sisters, Theresa Wright and Joleta Murray and husband Roger.
 
Family and friends are invited to a memorial service celebrating his life at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 11, 2024, at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Marvin Hale officiating.  A private interment was prior to the memorial service in the Coleman City Cemetery. Services are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W. Pecan Street, in Coleman.
