Randy C. Jennings

January 28, 1956 — September 1, 2017

Randy Curtiss Jennings died September 1, 2017 at his home in Burkett, Texas.

Randy was born on January 28, 1956 in Brownwood, Texas and had lived in the Burkett community for many years after a medical discharge from the United States Air Force where he served his country for 17 years. After his service tenure, Randy worked as a civilian on Dyess Air Force Base in Abilene, Texas for an additional 20 years before ultimately retiring due to continuing health issues.

In spite of his health concerns, Randy was not one to give up and continued to enjoy life as much as he could. He enjoyed his fishing trips and the annual so called “Doke” outing near rural Bangs, Texas where he connected with close relatives and friends to share a good joke, some excellent food and an overall good time.

He is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 41 years, Diana Sue Jennings of Burkett; son Randy Curtiss Jennings, Jr. of Nashville, Tennessee; son-in-law Kenneth Byrd of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; granddaughters Ashley Calvin of Hawaii; Courteney Byrd of Murfreesboro, Tennessee and Kalie Jennings of Burkett; sister Glenda Marie Hutchins and husband Elvin of Lake Brownwood and brother Dennis Raymond Jennings and wife El Wanda of Highland Park in Dallas; along with six nephews, one niece and numerous other relatives.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Earl and Montie Elizabeth Jennings and a beloved daughter Jill Marie Byrd.

A private memorial service will be held at a future date.

Arrangements are under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home in Coleman, Texas.
