Peggy Jean Burdick, a beloved member of the community, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 12, 2026, at Holiday Hill Nursing Home in Coleman, Texas. Born on June 27, 1935, in Coleman, Peggy was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who dedicated her life to caring for her family and helping others.

Peggy grew up in Coleman and graduated from Coleman High School in 1954. On June 30, 1954, she married the love of her life, Sidney Burdick, and together they built a family filled with love and support. Peggy was a nurturing caretaker, whose kind and loving personality left a lasting impression on all who knew her. She was always present for church meals or delivering food to those in need, demonstrating her unwavering commitment to her friends and community.

A proud member of the "Fun Bunch," Peggy received special recognition as she was named Coleman Citizen of the Year. Her career included time spent at Nell's, Owl Drug Store, and the Petal Patch, where she continued to touch the lives of many. However, it was her family that truly meant the world to her. Peggy is survived by her loving husband, Sidney Burdick of Coleman, along with her two sons, Ross Burdick and his wife Debbie, and Randy Burdick and his wife Jami, who were her pride and joy. Additionally, she absolutely adored her grandchildren: Brady Burdick and his wife Michelle, Bryce Burdick and his wife Elizabeth, and Lacy Burdick Haney and her husband Garrett. Peggy's legacy lives on through her five great-grandchildren: Stratton Haney, Clay Burdick, Spencer Haney, Jake Burdick, and Tamzin Burdick.

Preceding Peggy in death were her parents, Joe Henry Livingston and Erlena Davis Livingston; her sister, Anna Jo Goodwin; and her brother, Tommy Livingston.

A funeral service celebrating her remarkable life will be held on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at 3:00 PM at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel, 400 W. Pecan Street, in Coleman. A private interment will follow in the Coleman City Cemetery. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends, who are left with fond memories of a truly remarkable woman.
