Nanetta Wilson, affectionately known as Netta, was born on January 21, 1944, in Coleman, Texas. She was a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker who dedicated her life to her family. Netta’s unwavering commitment to being the best wife and mother shone through in every aspect of her life. She was also a pivotal figure in managing the family land business, showcasing her entrepreneurial spirit and dedication to her family's legacy.

Netta graduated from Coleman High School in 1962 and soon after married her beloved husband, Hershell Olan Wilson. Together, they nurtured a loving home and a family that flourished under their care and guidance. Netta’s vibrant personality was marked by her love for family and friends, which she embraced wholeheartedly. Her giving nature was particularly evident in her relationship with her sister, Linda Lou, whom she lovingly supported while she thrived at the Brookwood Community.

Netta attended Southern Methodist University and joined the Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority. Her faith played an essential role in her life, and she was a valued member of the Presbyterian Church, attending the First Presbyterian and United Christian and Presbyterian Church in Coleman, and then attending Park Cities Presbyterian Church when she moved to Dallas.

Netta passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 7, 2025, in Dallas, Texas. She leaves behind her cherished children, James McCord Wilson and his wife Waverly of Dallas, and Linda Michelle "Missy" Wilson Moody and her husband Bill also of Dallas. Her grandchildren, Monica Danielle Moody, Press McCord Wilson, and Kaylee Camille Wilson, were a source of immense pride and joy for her.

Netta is now reunited in heaven with her parents, James Beaumont "J.B." McCord and Billie Simmons McCord, her loving husband Hershell Olan Wilson, and her dear sister, Linda Lou McCord.

The memory of Netta's giving heart and loving spirit will remain in the hearts of all who knew her. A visitation will be held at Stevens Funeral Home in Coleman, Texas, on Friday, September 12, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM. Family and friends are invited to a funeral service celebrating her remarkable life on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Chas Shira officiating. A private interment will follow in the Coleman City Cemetery. Services are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W. Pecan Street, in Coleman.

Her life was a testament to love, dedication, and the importance of family, and she will be deeply missed.
