He was born Michael Shawn Higgins on July 20, 1967 in Roswell, New Mexico to Donnie Higgins and Carolyn Glenn Taylor. Mike grew up in Monument, New Mexico and graduated from Hobbs High School. He then continued his education at New Mexico Junior College in Hobbs and Southwestern Assemblies of God University in Waxahachie. Mike loved his family deeply and held each of them close to his heart. He will be missed tremendously by his family, but they are comforted knowing that Mike is perfectly preparing a place in Heaven, where blue birds sing, and faith, hope and love will always prevail.

Mike is joined in heaven by his grandparents, Alma and David Higgins, and Andrew and Velma Glenn.
