Martha McGinnis, a beloved member of her community, passed away peacefully on September 13, 2025, at Holiday Hill Nursing Home in Coleman, Texas. Born on June 24, 1942, in Crane, Texas, Martha's life was marked by her deep love for her family, friends, and faith.

Martha was dedicated to her career, working many years as a secretary at Region 15. Throughout her time there, she cherished her coworkers and the many students who passed through the school system, leaving a lasting impression on all those she encountered.

An active and faithful member of the Knickerbocker Community Church in San Angelo, Martha shared her talent as a pianist every Sunday morning, bringing joy to her congregation through her music. Her bright and loving personality shone not only in her professional life but also in her interactions with family and friends, whom she held dear to her heart.

Her educational journey began in her hometown, where she grew up in Crane and McCamey before graduating from Crane High School. Martha's life was enriched by a variety of activities; she enjoyed fishing, playing cards, quilting, and cooking comfort food. Known for her delicious dishes, she welcomed everyone to her table, creating countless cherished memories during shared meals.

Martha's proudest accomplishment was marrying William "Bill" McGinnis in 2006 in San Angelo. She is survived by her husband, Bill; her two children, Becky Brooks and wife Cindi of Coleman, and John Brooks and wife Victoria of Jacksonville, Florida. Additionally, Martha is survived by her stepchildren, Sandy Jackson and husband Byron, Sherri Jones and husband Jerry Long, and Billy McGinnis and wife Carla. Her grandchildren, including Aubry Webrand and husband Ryan, were a source of boundless joy for Martha, who loved and adored them. She will also be remembered fondly by her caring brother, Gary Joyce, and wife Ella of Christoval.

Martha is preceded in death by her parents, Elton Lester Joyce and Frankie Ann Williams Joyce. Her legacy of warmth, kindness, and devotion to others will continue to inspire all who knew her.

Memorials are requested with gratitude to Holiday Hill Nursing Home, 245 State Highway 153, Coleman, Texas 76834. Their love and kindness that was given to Martha will never be forgotten.

At Martha’s request, no memorial service will be held. Arrangements with cremation are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W. Pecan Street, in Coleman.
