Mark Dreyer Wislicenus

December 29, 1964 — March 4, 2017

Mark Dreyer Wislicenus, age 51, of Gouldbusk, died Saturday, March 4, 2017, at his residence on his ranch in Coleman County. A private service with family and a few neighbors was held Monday, March 6, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. and his body was interred in The Grace Family Cemetery on the ranch. He was born Mark Dreyer Wislicenus on December 29, 1965, in Denver, Colorado, the son of Wolfram Dreyer Wislicenus and Rogenna Grace Yungblut. He grew up in Grayslake, Illinois and Santa Rosa, California, graduating from Santa Rosa High School in 1984. Mark served his country in the United States Army from 1986-1990 and was a disabled veteran. He graduated from Santa Rosa Junior College with an Associate’s Degree as an Engineering Tech. He also attended Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, California. He worked for Agilent and Hewlitt-Packard as an Engineer Tech Specialist. On March 16, 2011 he married Catherine Sharp in Abilene, and they have been happily married for over five years. Mark had been self-employed as the owner and operator of M & C Construction since 2005. He moved to the ranch near Gouldbusk in 2011. Mark was very passionate about his beliefs – he demonstrated morality everywhere he went and encouraged others to live by God's Holy Word. He was a wonderful spiritual leader, husband, dad and son. In the late Fall of 2016 he entered a spiritual fast to become born again and died as a result of not accomplishing this, leading to complications from that fast. We can rest assured he is in Father/God's Hands and His Divine Will was done in Mark's life. He was a very loving, caring person and son, and was always willing to help other people. Survivors include his wife, Catherine of Gouldbusk; his mother, Rogenna Hanson of Abilene; an uncle Gary C. Youngblut and wife Jerilynn,of Abilene; a daughter, Emily Grace Wislicenus of Wyoming, Minnesota; a son, Jonah Dreyer Wislicenus of Mesa, Arizona; a son, David Wayne Sharp of Kaufman; and a grandson, Corey Bo Sharp of Abilene; two sisters, Christie Lynn Wislicenus of Abilene, and Sandra Elizabeth Wislicenus of Santa Rosa, California; one niece, Chelsea Leigh Kirkland of San Antonio and one nephew Parker Cline Simpson of Key West, Florida; a great-nephew, Daniel Merle Kirkland of San Antonio; three first cousins, with whom he was especially close, Gary Scott Yungblut, Cherisse Yungblut Flanagan and Traci Yungblut Kidwell, who all grew up in Abilene. He was preceded in death by his father in 1976, two step fathers and a daughter, Ashley Ann McCauly, in 2013. Memorials may be made to JAH Publications, P. O.
