Margarita Padilla Ramirez

April 20, 1941 — April 5, 2013

Margarita P. Ramirez, age 71, of Coleman, passed away Friday, April 5, 2013 at a San Angelo hospital. A prayer service will be held Sunday at 6:00 p.m. in Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ishmael Ceniceros officiating. A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 8 in Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with her brother, Rev. Moises Padilla, officiating. Burial will follow in the Coleman City Cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W. Pecan, Coleman, Texas.

She was born Margarita Padilla on July 20, 1941 in Robstown, Texas, a daughter of Moises Padilla, Sr. and Cecilia Rodriguez Padilla. She grew up in Sudan and attended school at Whitharrell and Sudan, graduating from Sudan High School. On April 13, 1963 she married Ramiro Ramirez in Snyder. Following their marriage, they made their home in Coleman. Margarita worked at Coleman Steam Laundry and later at Stemple Manufacturing for 20 years where she was a line leader for production. She was a long-time member of Primera Iglesia Bautista in Coleman.

Survivors include her husband, Ramiro; three children, Naomi Morales and husband Gilbert, Cecilia Cruz, and Harvey Ramirez and wife Pam, all of Coleman; six grandchildren, Sonya Cruz, Jeffrey Segura, Jessica Morales, Justin Morales, Marcus Segura, Jacob Ramirez; one sister, Minnie Ortiz of Temple; two brothers, Moises Padilla, Jr. and wife Cruz of Goldthwaite, Marc Padilla and wife Linda of Bonham; numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Domingo, and a sister, Mary.
