Loyce Hamon

September 23, 1928 — July 14, 2017

Loyce Hamon, 88, of Coleman, died Friday, July 14, 2017 at Hendrick Hospice in Abilene. Funeral service will be 11:00 Monday, July 17, 2017 at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel, 400 West Pecan Street, Coleman, with Rev. John Stanislaw officiating. Burial will be in the Glen Gove Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.

She was born Loyce Lavern Shuford on September 23, 1928 in Shields to Dan and Annabelle Vercher Shuford. She graduated from Centennial High School in 1946. On March 16, 1948, she married Lamar Hamon in Coleman. While living in Chile, she taught Sunday School in a one room school house. She was a member of the Eastern Star and a member of First Baptist Church.

Survivors include her daughter, Donna Bockmon and husband, Donald, of Gillette, Wyoming and their children, Julie Bockmon of Costa Mesa, California, Brandi Golden and husband, Geoff, of Denver, Colorado and their children, Avery and Langston Golden; her son, Dan Hamon and wife, Cynthia, of Bozeman, Montana, and their children, Troy Hamon of Bozeman, Montana, Cary Wood and her husband, Zachary, of Minot, North Dakota, Shawna Hamon of Pablo, Montana and her son, T.J. Hamon and sister-in-law, Ann Wilson and husband, Felton, of Goldthwaite. Thirteen nieces and nephews also survive: Freida Horton, Richard Cook, Delbert Wilson, Robert Wilson, Luke Ramsey, Sheila Allen, Karen Cumbee, Welton Hamon, Joanie Hamon, Rodney Hamon, Shirley Case, Jim Barmore and Rick Barmore.

Besides her parents, Loyce was also preceded in death by her husband, Lamar Hamon; one son, Troy Lamar Hamon and one sister, Frances Cook.

Visitation with the family will be from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Sunday, July 16, 2017 at Stevens Funeral Home.
