Linda J. Nixon

October 9, 1948 — May 17, 2024

Coleman, Texas

Linda J. Nixon, born Linda Chadwick on October 9, 1948, bid farewell to this world on Friday, May 17, 2024, at Coleman County Medical Center. She was a dedicated Licensed Vocational Nurse who touched the lives of many during her time on earth.

Growing up in San Antonio, Linda attended school at Harlandale High School before embarking on a nursing career. She later moved to Coleman in the 1990s where she worked tirelessly at Coleman County Medical Center, Holiday Hill Nursing Home, and Coleman Health Care Center. Her commitment to her profession was evident as she strived to provide the best care possible to those in need.

Linda's proudest accomplishments revolved around her role as a mother and homemaker. She lovingly cared for her children and home, finding joy in spending time with her family. Her dedication knew no bounds as she selflessly catered to the needs of her loved ones.

Tragically, Linda experienced the profound loss of her son, Jason Nixon, on August 14, 2019. Despite facing this heart-wrenching event, she continued to show strength and resilience in the face of adversity.

In her leisure time, Linda found solace in watching Shepherd's Chapel on television—a testament to her faith and spiritual beliefs that guided her throughout life.

Linda leaves behind cherished memories and a legacy of love and compassion that will forever be remembered by those who had the privilege of knowing her. She is survived by her son Ronald Casanova of Coleman; stepdaughter Tammy Meredith of Corpus Christi; stepson John Meredith of San Antonio; sister Marilyn Kite of San Antonio.

In addition to her son, Jason, she was preceded in death by her parents, James and May Belle Chadwick, and a sister, Jimmie Chadwick.

As we mourn the loss of Linda J. Nixon, let us remember her for the kindness she shared, the lives she touched, and the love that will continue to live on through all those who were fortunate enough to have had her presence in their lives. May she rest in peace knowing that she was deeply loved and will be eternally missed.
