Lena Faye Williams

September 21, 1934 — April 13, 2017

Lena Faye Turner Williams entered the Church Triumphant April 13th at the Coleman County Medical Center surrounded by her children and grandchildren. . A memorial service will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 20, 2017 at the United Christian and Presbyterian Church, 1609 S. Commercial Avenue, Coleman. The Rev. Russell E. Fisher, Rector of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Coleman, will officiate. There will be a time of visitation with the family, immediately following the service, in the fellowship hall.

Lena was born September 21, 1934 to Claudia and Jesse Turner in Coleman County. She married Jim S. Williams Jr. in Coleman and they celebrated 49 years together until his death in 2005. After leaving Coleman, they lived in Georgetown for many years and then College Station. Lena recently returned to her Coleman family. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, Sunday school teacher, and church leader. Her ministries included young family events and family retreats

Lena was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Williams, and brother Chuck Turner. Continuing to cherish her memory are her three children, Katha Fields and husband Robert of Kingwood, Charlotte Purl and husband Scott of Coleman, Sam Williams and wife Kim of College Station, grandchildren, Josh Purl and wife Reilly, Jenna Purl, Sarah and Laura Fields, Brodie, Jarod and Kallie Williams, as well as a host of friends and all the many children in Christ she influenced through the years. She is also survived by her sister, Lois McCarty and husband Rodney of Coleman and brother, Henry Turner of Abilene.

Memorials may be given to St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, PO Box 838 Coleman, Texas 76834, or the donor’s favorite charity.
