He was born Larry Hardy Rose on March 21, 1945 in Abilene to Hardy Murray Rose and Georgia Maxine Kirby Rose.  Larry grew up in Odessa in his younger years and his family moved to Novice when he was in the 8th grade.  He graduated from Novice High School in 1963 and attended Tarleton State University, McMurry University, and Howard Payne University.  Larry always joked that he crammed four years of college into seven years.  He married Kathy Jones on June 12, 1964 in the First United Methodist Church in Novice.  Larry became a schoolteacher, coach, and principal and worked in Hobbs, Mozelle, and then at Novice for over 30 years.  He inspired many young people during his years as an educator.  After retirement, Larry loved playing golf at the Coleman Country Club and spending time with his two granddaughters.

Larry is preceded in death by his parents, and his sister, Kay Carlene Golson.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy Rose of Coleman; his son, Joe Lee Rose and wife Sandra of Coleman; and his granddaughters, Hannah Rose and Natalee Rose.
