Ken Greaves

Ken Greaves, age 73, of Coleman, died Saturday, February 18, 2017, at Abilene Regional Medical Center. Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 22, 2017, in Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Jenkins officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in the Coleman City Cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.

He was born Kenneth Lee Greaves on May 22, 1943 in Coleman, Texas, a son of Marcus and Janie Gaines Greaves. He grew up in Coleman County and graduated from Mozelle High School. On May 23, 1964 he married Becky Crye in Coleman. He served his country in the United States Army in Viet Nam with the Americal Division and was honorably discharged in 1968. He was a farmer in Coleman County for most of his life. He was a member of Central Baptist Church. Ken was also a member of the Coleman Rodeo Association and the National Rifle Association (NRA).

Survivors include his wife, Becky Greaves of Coleman; two brothers, Marcus and Sandra Greaves of Calvert, Ronnie and Patsy Greaves of Lampasas; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Donnie and Billie Ann Crye of Coleman, Wayne and Ginger Crye of Belton; nephews, Ray and wife Christy Greaves of Palacios, Craig Greaves and wife Nicole of Bryan, Todd Greaves and wife Sandi of Brownwood, Wesley Crye of Coleman and Cory Crye and wife Michelle of Roanoke; nieces, Marlene Soto of Franklin, Tracy Schulze of Leander and Karyn and husband Dennis Yost of Salado; several great-nephews and great-nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marcus and Janie Greaves.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 21, from 5:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home, 400 West Pecan Street, Coleman, Texas.
