Karen Ann Todd

May 30, 1955 — February 10, 2024

Coleman

Karen Ann Todd, mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully on February 10, 2024, in her home in Coleman with her beloved daughter, Megan, by her side. Karen was born on May 30, 1955 in Coleman to C.L. “Witt” Yeatman, Jr. and Laverne Stewart Yeatman.

After graduating from Coleman High School in 1973, she  married Joe Hollingsworth of Coleman and moved with him throughout Texas and returned to Coleman in 1989.  In Coleman, she worked for various downtown businesses, including serving as a receptionist at Wanda Jewel Real Estate, writing news articles for Coleman Chronicle and Democrat-Voice and working for Allen and Allen Insurance Company. She married Johnny Todd of Coleman in 1993 and experienced being a stepmother to his sons and enjoyed nature and the ranch life while riding shotgun with Johnny on his adventures.

Outside of her professional endeavors, Karen enjoyed reading and watching television. She delighted in following judge shows, eagerly engaging in the drama of courtroom affairs. The Price Is Right always excited her, as she enjoyed trying to guess the correct prices of various items. Additionally, late-night television provided Karen with moments of laughter, entertainment and reflection.

With her retirement in 2016, Karen focused on herself and spent time contemplating life and greatly enjoyed visits from friends and family. She adored her daughter, Megan, son-in-law, Chris, and granddaughter, Isabel. Karen's strong-willed, independent spirit made it hard to know her, but for those who did, her love was evident in the time she spent with her friends and family.

Karen is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Megan and Chris Castro of San Antonio; her granddaughter, Isabel Castro of San Antonio; two sisters and ten nieces and nephews. Also surviving are two step-sons, Mitch Todd and his family and Dustin Todd and his family along with close friends and neighbors.

Preceding Karen in death are her parents, C.L. “Witt” and Laverne Yeatman; one brother, John Albert “Jay” Yeatman and her ex-husband, Johnny Todd.

Following visitation at 1:00 pm, Rev. Jeff Robinett will officiate a memorial service on March 2, 2024, at 2:00 pm in the Stevens Funeral Home Chapel, 400 West Pecan Street in Coleman. Friends and family are invited to gather and share stories, reflecting on Karen's life and the legacy she leaves behind.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Coleman Public Library at 402 Commercial Avenue, Coleman, Texas 76834. Karen recognized the importance of literacy and fostering a love for books within her community, and supporting the library would be a meaningful way to honor her memory.

Karen Ann Todd will forever be remembered for her independence, opinionated personality, and unwavering spirit. She touched the lives of those around her and her absence will be deeply felt. May her soul find eternal peace, and may her memory bring solace to those who knew and loved her.  Condolences and remembrances may be left on Karen’s tribute page at www.stevensfuneralhome.com.  Stevens Funeral Home is honored to serve her family.
