Judy Ann Wright Chambers, 71, passed away on Thursday May 28, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Judy was born April 24, 1955, in Santa Anna, TX, the daughter of Thomas Doyle Wright and Audrey May Parsons Wright.

Judy graduated from Santa Anna High School in 1973.

Judy married Phillip Irvin Chambers on September 14, 1973. They were blessed with 52 years of marriage together before her passing.

Judy went to American Commercial College and then worked as a Data Entry Clerk at Abilene Christian University for 29 years. She retired in 2018.

Judy especially loved gardening, crocheting, scrapbooking, and spending time with her grandkids. She crocheted special blankets for all her grandkids. She loved cooking for her family, playing board games, and doing crafts with her grandkids.

Judy always loved any time she could spend with her family, especially the holidays. Buying gifts and watching the joy on her kids and grandkids faces brought her such joy. She wanted everyone to feel special and loved. She also loved to travel. Her favorite places were the mountains, Las Vegas, and the beach.

Judy was a member of Elm Street Church of Christ in Coleman before moving to Kansas.

Remaining to cherish Judy’s memory are her husband, Phillip Chambers; children, Aimee Bunting, and her husband Joseph Bunting, of Shallowater, TX, Randall Chambers, and his wife Erin Chambers, of Whitewater, KS, and James Chambers, and his wife Celina Chambers, of Temple, TX; grandchildren, Kaytlyn Bunting Shelley, and her husband Brendan Shelley, Gage Bunting, Cooper Bunting, Kaci Chambers, Keller Chambers, Olivia Chambers, Jackson Chambers, Ethan Romney, Tyler Romney, and Noah Romney; great-grandchildren, Hudson Romney; brother, Lynn Wright; sister, Clara Gibson; and multiple nieces, nephews, and in-laws.

Preceding Judy in death are her parents, Thomas Doyle Wright and Audrey May Parsons Wright; brother, Darrell “Tex” Wright and his wife, Pat Wright.

Visitation will be held Thursday June 4, 2026, from 5:30-7:30 PM at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside funeral services will be held at Cleveland Cemetery on Friday June 5, 2026, at 2:30 PM, with Bob Martin officiating.
