Jon Paul
Mendoza
Jun 24, 1984 — Jul 16, 2026
Coleman
Jon Paul Mendoza, beloved son, husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at Medical City Fort Worth, with his family by his side. He was born on June 24, 1984, in Coleman, Texas, and throughout his 42 years touched the lives of many with his kindness, warmth, and unwavering devotion to those he cherished.
Jon grew up in Coleman, where he cultivated deep roots and lifelong friendships. A proud graduate of Coleman High School, class of 2002, Jon’s early years were marked by his engaging spirit and outgoing personality, traits that would define his relationships and approach to life for years to come.
Jon’s work ethic and friendliness were evident in his career. He began his professional journey at Halls Custom Processing and, over the past six years, distinguished himself at 3M in Brownwood. His dedication to his work was matched by the strong bonds he formed with colleagues, who remember him not just as a reliable co-worker, but as a true friend.
Outside of his professional life, Jon found joy in simple yet meaningful moments — none more so than BBQing for his family, a tradition he relished and looked forward to sharing. Faith also played an important role in his life; he was a valued member at Coggin Baptist Church, where he connected with his community in worship and fellowship.
Family was the heart of Jon’s world. His proudest accomplishment was undoubtedly being a devoted father to Jaxson and Adelaide, whom he loved immensely. Jon’s love for his family was evident in every moment he spent with them. His caring nature, affectionate presence, and boundless support created memories that will be treasured always.
Jon is survived by his loving wife, Samantha Yebra; his son, Jaxson Mendoza; his daughter, Adelaide Mendoza; his mother, Maria Dolores Mendoza; his brothers, Santos Mendoza, III, Michael Paul Mendoza and wife Katie, and Joshua Andrew Mendoza; as well as numerous extended family members including his aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Jon’s legacy is marked equally by the family that survives him and the family he joins in eternal rest. He is preceded in death by his father, Santos Mendoza, Jr.
Jon Paul Mendoza will be remembered for his lively spirit, open heart, and generosity towards all he encountered. He leaves behind a remarkable legacy of love, faith, and integrity. Those who knew him will hold dear the memory of a man who put family more than anything else, celebrated his friends, and illuminated every room with his presence.
The family will host a visitation from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm Sunday, July 26, 2026, at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel. A funeral service celebrating his life will be at 10:00 am Monday, July 27, 2026, at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Coleman City Cemetery. Services are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W. Pecan Street, in Coleman.
