Johnny Manuel Salazar, Sr., a devoted family man, cherished foreman, and beloved member of his community, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 2, 2026, at his home in Santa Anna, Texas, surrounded by his loving family. Born on July 18, 1956, in Del Rio, Texas, Johnny lived a life marked by dedication, kindness, and an unwavering commitment to those he loved.

For over 35 years, Johnny proudly served as a Foreman for BNSF Railroad, a career that brought him not only professional fulfillment but also enduring friendships. His passion for his work was evident in every task he undertook, and he earned the respect and admiration of colleagues and friends alike. Johnny's dedication to his job was only matched by his devotion to his family, who meant the world to him.

Johnny possessed a loving and giving personality. He treasured the time spent with his family and took immense joy in spoiling his grandchildren. His generous spirit and warm heart touched all who knew him, creating lasting bonds that will be remembered fondly. Johnny enjoyed fishing, music, dancing, and spending time at the ocean.

Johnny was married and shared many years of marriage with Virginia Guerroero, and together they had Johnny (Junior), Michelle and Eric. He wed Delia Stamper on January 1, 1986, in Brownwood and they had Stephanie and Kalham. Their partnership spanned decades until Delia's passing on March 2, 2017. In 2021, Johnny found love once again, marrying Linda Brooks on June 12, in Brownwood. Together, they shared the joy of family and community. Johnny was also a valued member of the Brownwood Community Church, reflecting the importance of faith in his life.

Johnny is survived by his cherished wife, Linda Salazar; his five children: three sons, Johnny Salazar, Jr. and wife Nancy, Eric Salazar, and Kalham Salazar, and two daughters, Michelle Salazar, and Stephanie Salazar; as well as four stepchildren: Mona Chastain, Jesse Mills, Jr., Trina Whinery, and Tammy Arreola. He took immense pride and happiness in his twelve grandchildren and one great-grandchild, who were the light of his life. His surviving siblings include Joe Torres and wife Kwan, Robert Salazar, Jr. and wife Sally, Norma Silva and husband Pedro, Stella Longoria and husband Israel, Sylvia Rosales and husband Eddie, Delma Salazar, and Elvia Rivera.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert Frausto Salazar, Sr. and Guadalupe Maria Estrada Salazar; his first wife, Delia Stamper Salazar; and two brothers, Javier "Harvey" Salazar and Raul Salazar.

The family will host a visitation at 12:00 p.m. followed by a funeral service celebrating his life at 1:00 p.m. Monday, April 6, 2026, at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel, 400 W. Pecan Street, in Coleman. Interment will follow in the Santa Anna Cemetery. Services are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home.
