February 9, 1933 — January 2, 2021

Novice

John Joseph or better known as “Jaker or JJ” Kincaid, age 87, of Novice, formerly of Soda Springs, Idaho and Wendell, Idaho, died Saturday, January 2, 2021 at the Coronado Nursing Home in Abilene.

A graveside service will be 2:30 p.m. Monday, January 11, 2021 at the Atoka Cemetery.  Services are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home in Coleman.

He was born February 9, 1933 in Coleman County to Robert Seaborn Kincaid and Grace Casey Kincaid.  JJ grew up in Novice and graduated from Novice High School in 1952.  He married Avos “O’Neda” Kincaid on October 13, 1951.   JJ worked in the oilfield and owned an electric motor repair shop in Wendell, Idaho.  He enjoyed fishing for sturgeon and catfish, hunting, flying his Cessna 182, snowmobiling, and shooting his cannon.  JJ loved his family and friends.  He enjoyed spending time with his grandkids and great grandkids.  JJ loved watching them play baseball and softball and taking them fishing.  One of his favorite past times was listening to his daughter Becky play the piano.  He was a family man and one of the greatest persons to have known.  JJ bought a 1932 and 1934 Ford and gave them to his grandkids.  He enjoyed family reunions and telling stories of the past. He was a 32nd Degree Mason.    JJ never met a stranger and would always wave at people as they passed by.  Sometimes people would turn around to see if they knew him!  So, as we say our goodbye and do our final wave, we say Godspeed my friend, and see you soon!

JJ is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Grace Kincaid; his wife, Neda Kincaid; his daughter, Rebecca Yvonne Sherman; his sons, Richard Wayne Kincaid, Jesse Randal Kincaid, and Raymond Glenn Kincaid; and his brothers and sisters, Robert Frank Kincaid, Lydia Lois Kincaid-Wisner, Ralph Warren Kincaid, Albert Sidney Kincaid, Laura Ruth Kincaid-McDaniel, Johnny Ben Kincaid, and Elery Buster Kincaid.

He is survived by his grandchildren, James McKinley and wife Megan of Boise, Idaho and Debby Coburn and husband Matt of Kuna, Idaho; his great-grandchildren, Jacob Coburn, Kaitlyn Coburn, and Addilyn McKinley; his siblings, Presley Kincaid, Cordell Archie “C.A.” Kincaid, Weldon Harlon Kincaid, Gary Ray Kincaid, Leon Ronal Kincaid and wife Nina; and sisters in law, Fern Cummings Kincaid, Patsy Cummings Keel, and Joyce Cummings Keel.
