Jimmie Evelyn Durham, 87, of Coleman, died Thursday, November 9, 2017 at Mesa Spring Healthcare Center in Abilene. Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 13, 2017 at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel, 400 West Pecan Street, Coleman, with Bro. Don Harmes officiating. Burial will be in the Coleman City Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.

She was born Jimmie Evelyn Kitchens on April 16, 1930 in Kerr County to George Washington Kitchens and Syrina Alverta Kenley Kitchens. She grew up in Silver Valley and attended school in Coleman. On January 11, 1948, she married Nathan Earl Durham in Coleman. He preceded her in death on January 27, 2014. Mrs. Durham worked for Safeway grocery as a clerk and also worked for Coleman ISD as a custodian for over 10 years. She was a long-time member of Central Baptist Church.

She is survived by two children, Larry W. Durham, Sr. of Coleman, Michael D. Durham and wife, Della, of Abilene; four sisters, Sue Wilkins of San Antonio, Jane Rowen of Abernathy, Barbara Crabb of Eastland, Sandra Rogers of Coleman; two brothers, Wayne Kitchens of Abernathy, Glen Kitchens of Albany; four grandchildren, six great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents and husband, she is also preceded in death by one brother, Raymond Kitchens.

There will be a visitation one hour before the funeral service from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 13, 2017 at Stevens Funeral Home.
