Jane (Elliott) Ehrler

October 4, 1941 — September 5, 2023

Jane Ehrler, a beloved member of the Coleman community, peacefully passed away on September 5, 2023, in her hometown of Coleman, Texas. Born on October 4, 1941, Jane was a cherished daughter, mother, Mamaw, and friend, leaving behind a legacy of love and kindness.

Jane was deeply involved in her community and was known for her vibrant personality and love for socializing. She had a zest for life and could often be found engaging in lively conversations with friends and strangers alike. Her warm and welcoming nature made her a true socialite, and she never missed an opportunity to attend all functions in Coleman, making lasting connections with all whom she met.

A proud member of Concho Baptist Church, Jane found solace and strength in her faith. She actively participated in church activities and shared her unwavering belief in God with those around her. Jane’s devotion to her spirituality was an inspiration to others and brought comfort and hope during difficult times.

Outside of her community involvement, Jane dedicated her career to serving Coleman. She worked as a PEIMS Coordinator at Coleman ISD, where her dedication and hard work positively impacted the lives of many students. Prior to that, she was employed at Hickman Advertising, where she utilized her skills to contribute to the growth and development of the local business community.

Jane married her high school sweetheart, Ted Ehrler on September 15, 1962, in Coleman.  They celebrated 60 years of love and friendship.  Ted preceded her in death on April 6, 2023.  Jane is also preceded in death by her parents, T.A. “Bud” Elliott and Opal Janie Barton Elliott, and an infant son, Shannon Ehrler.

Jane’s greatest joy in life was her family. She treasured her daughters, Christi Ehrler and Shanna Hollingsworth and husband Geoffrey, and was a loving and supportive mother. She absolutely adored her grandchildren, Aaron Hollingsworth and Haley Hollingsworth. Her love for her family extended to her close friends, whom she considered as her chosen family.
