Helen Ray Todd, 82, of Coleman, died Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene. Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 13, 2017 at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel, 400 West Pecan Street, Coleman, with Rev. Benny Allcorn officiating. Burial will be in the Glen Cove Cemetery. Funeral services are under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.

She was born Helen Ray Herring on October 14, 1934 in Santa Anna to Hubert Herring and Grace McClure Herring. She grew up in Talpa and graduated from Talpa High School. On April 22, 1953, she married Gerald "Jerry" Todd in Talpa. He preceded her in death on June 28, 1999. She worked alongside her mother-in-law, Estelle Todd, when they owned Estelle's Ladies Shop in Coleman. Mrs. Todd also worked at Nell's Carousal and at the Coleman County Courthouse. Her most important job, though, was being a wife, mother and grandmother.

Survivors include one son, Hubert Todd of Thrifty; three grandchildren, Misty Todd of Houston, Mitchell Todd and wife, Colette, of Llano, Dustin Todd and wife, Courtney, of Abilene; four great grandchildren, Zane Todd, Gunner Todd, Kellan Todd, Charlee Todd and numerous cousins.

Besides her parents and husband, Mrs. Todd was preceded in death by a son, Johnny "Pete" Todd on May 20, 2015.

Memorial donations in memory of Helen Ray Todd may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Visitation with the family will be from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, January 12, 2017 at Stevens Funeral Home.
