Geraldine Seals Wilder

Geraldine Seals Wilder, 92, of Coleman, died Tuesday, December 05, 2017 at Holiday Hill Nursing Home. Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 8, 2017 at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel, 400 West Pecan Street, Coleman, with Randy McCoy, a cousin of Geraldine’s, officiating. Burial will be in the Coleman City Cemetery. There will be a visitation on Friday from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.

She was born Millie Geraldine Seals on October 6, 1925 in Santa Anna to Clifford Seals and Rosa Lee Kelley Seals. She grew up in the Watts Creek and Cross Roads communities, where she attended school. At the end of World War II, she married Roy E. Wilder in 1945 in Abilene and they made Coleman their home. Geraldine would help Roy at the Goodyear Store, where he was the manager, with bookkeeping and accounting. She also volunteered along-side Roy, as he coached Little League Baseball in Coleman. Geraldine loved gardening and tending to her flower beds and was a member of First Baptist Church.

Survivors include one sister, Dorothy Mitchell and husband Robert, of Abilene; one niece, Rosemary Mitchell Henderson and husband, James, of Keller, and numerous cousins including Doris McCulloch and Gary Seals, both of Coleman.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy, on February 16, 2001.
