Dellene Driskill

Dellene Driskill, age 85, of Coleman, passed from this life on Sunday, October 14, 2018 at Holiday Hill Nursing Home.  Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m.  Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at the Elm Street Church of Christ, 216 W. Elm Street in Coleman.  Tim Baugh and Bob Martin will officiate.  Interment will follow at the Coleman City Cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.

She was born Dellene Meador on July 14, 1933 in Novice, Texas, a daughter of Willie A. Meador and Vada Lee Jennings Meador.  Dellene graduated from Coleman High School in 1951.  She married her high school sweetheart, Jimmie C. Driskill, on July 31, 1951 in Coleman.  Dellene was a homemaker, secretary and bookkeeper at Good Year Tire and Central Texas Opportunity, and was secretary for the Elm Street Church of Christ until retiring in 1992.  Dellene enjoyed sewing, crocheting, embroidery, scrapbooking, and volunteering for the Coleman Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, Coleman Band, the Girls Scouts and Cub Scouts.

Dellene is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Doyle Meador and Lester Meador; four brother-in-laws, Jigs Driskill, John Holtz, Johnny Baugh, and Gene Spivey; three sister-in-laws, Joy Spivey, Gerry Meador, and Dorothy Meador.

She is survived by her husband, Jimmie Driskill of Coleman; three children, Gary Driskill and wife Connie of Coleman, David Driskill and wife Tammy of San Antonio, and Jana Needham of San Antonio; six grandchildren, Chris Driskill, Jennifer Driskill, Brandon Driskill and significant others Tracy Driskill and Kelly Driskill, Krishelle Hicks and husband Jason, Cody Needham, and Taylor Needham; seven great-grandchildren, Baylee Culwell, Ashley Driskill, Harlee Driskill, Jack Hicks, Callie Hicks, John David Hicks, and Jackson Reid Driskill; one great-great grandson, Kade Morris; one brother, E.W. Meador and wife Beth of Cross Plains; two sisters, Dorcia Holtz of Kaufman and Melba Baugh of Coleman; two sister in laws, Patsy Driskill and Linda Laws; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Memorials are suggested to the Elm Street Church of Christ, 216 W. Elm Street, Coleman, Texas 76834.

The family would like to thank Holiday Hill Nursing Home, Interim Hospice, and special friend and angel, Linda Maxwell for all the love and care they provided Dellene.

A visitation for family and friends will be 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W. Pecan Street in Coleman.
