Daryl Tinney, born on December 30, 1951, Snyder, Texas, departed this life peacefully on June 15, 2025, in Coleman, Texas, surrounded by his loving family. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all whose lives he touched throughout his remarkable journey.
Daryl was raised in Angleton, Texas, where he completed his education at Angleton High School before attending Brazosport College in Lake Jackson. His career spanned over two decades at Superior Essex Inc. in Brownwood, where he not only dedicated his hard work but also formed lasting friendships that enriched his life.
His life was filled with joy and interests that reflected his adventurous spirit. Daryl had a deep love for playing horseshoes, and he relished moments spent playing pool, fishing, and camping. He found great delight in watching thunderstorms, and Halloween held a special place in his heart, as he cherished handing out candy to the children in his neighborhood.
Daryl’s proudest accomplishment was his marriage to Virginia Morton on September 26, 2006, marking the beginning of a beautiful partnership that brought him immense joy. He is survived by his devoted wife, Virginia Tinney of Coleman, along with three beloved daughters: Wendy Tinney and boyfriend Marty Brumfield of Angleton, Cynthia Tinney-Longacre of Coleman and son-in-law Gregg Longacre of Royce City, and Shari Shepherd and wife Carrie Jenson of Burleson. His legacy continues through his adored grandchildren—Desiree Davis and husband Blake, Shelby Hernandez and husband Daniel Andel, Preston Epperley and fiancé Jasmine, Jax Shepherd, Kira Shepherd, and Emerson Shepherd—as well as his cherished great-grandchildren, Ryliee Davis, Braxton Davis, Jared Epperley, and Ellayna Epperley, Audri Epperley, and Maybri Epperley. Daryl will also be remembered by his sisters, Brenda Smith and Deborah Smith, along with numerous nieces and nephews, including Chrystal and David Lamb, Kim Newell, Jaclyn Tinney, and James Tinney, as well as great-nephews J.J. Tinney, Hayden Wilton, and Ryanne Wilton. Additionally, he is survived by his mother-in-law, Mary C. "Mimi" Morton and his two best friend dogs, Lady and Inga, and grand-pup Bella. Daryl will be missed by many cousins and extended family members who he loved dearly.
