Connie Marie Driskill, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, died peacefully on Sunday, August 2, 2026, at Oak Ridge Manor Nursing Home in Brownwood, Texas. Connie was born on May 25, 1956, in Coleman, Texas, and she spent her life devoted to her family, her church, and her community.

Connie was the cherished daughter of Alvin Eugene Smith and Jo Ann Buford Smith, both of whom preceded her in death. She grew up in Coleman, where she formed lifelong bonds.

On November 3, 1973, Connie married Gary Lynn Driskill in Coleman. Their unwavering partnership spanned almost 53 years, marked by mutual devotion and faith. Together, they built a home centered around love, kindness, and faithful service as devoted members of Community Baptist Church.

Throughout her life, Connie was known for her dedication, warmth, and tireless work ethic. She began her career working in the daycare at Community Baptist Church, nurturing young lives for many years. Connie’s impact on families in her hometown continued as she spent 19 years with the Headstart Program, laying foundations for generations of children. She then served as the Library Aide at Coleman Jr. High, fostering a love of books and learning among students. Later, she contributed to the comfort of others through her work in the housekeeping department at Holiday Hill Allen Center.

Connie is survived by her loving husband, Gary Driskill; her children, Chris Driskill and Jennifer Baker and husband Charles; Connie was a deeply proud grandmother to Baylee Porter and spouse Morgan, Ashley Azzeh, and spouse Mohammed, and Harlee Driskill. Her love extended to her great-grandchildren: Kade Morris, Remington Martinez, Kaysen Martinez, Hudson Porter, Elizabeth Porter, Amir Azzeh, and Asir Azzeh, each a joy in her later years. Connie will also be remembered by her two sisters, Cathy Pickett and Penny Foster and husband Kyle.

Connie is also preceded in death by her sister, Becky Watson and her husband Marlie.

Connie’s journey was rich with commitment, compassion, and the quiet strength she brought to all she did. Whether through her careers, her faith, or the love she poured into her family, she left an indelible impression on all those around her.

She is also remembered by her extended family and many friends who cherished her presence and were blessed by her kindness.

The family will receive friends during a visitation at Community Baptist Church, 218 Lackland Street, Coleman, TX 76834, on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Immediately following, a funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., also at Community Baptist Church with Rev. Jason Haynie officiating. Interment will follow in the Coleman City Cemetery. Services are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W. Pecan Street, in Coleman.

Connie Marie Driskill’s vibrant spirit, steadfast faith, and boundless love will remain a guiding light for those who knew her. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of her family and all whose lives she touched.
