He was born Charles Wendel Moore on April 23, 1933 in Krum to Judson Moore and Bernice Herring Moore.  Charles grew up in Edinburg and Corpus Christi.  He graduated from Corpus Christi High School.  Charles proudly served his country while serving in the United States Army during the Korean War.  He married the love of his life, Patricia Ann Nelson, on September 9, 1955 in Sinton.  It was with this union that two sons were born, Gary and Neal.  Charles was then relocated to Brownfield, Texas where he was a foreman and superintendent at Amerada-Hess Oil Company for over 30 years.  While living in Brownfield, Charles and Pat were members of the Calvary Baptist Church.  After retirement, Charles and Pat move to Lake Coleman.

Charles was a hard worker and family man.  He always did what he needed to do to provide for his family.  He built several homes for his family to live in.  Charles could do anything such as plumbing, electrical work, or woodworking.  He always had the philosophy, if someone can do it for a living, I can do it myself.  Charles loved to cook out and was always telling a joke to make you smile.  He loved his wife and his family with all his heart.  Charles provided excellent care for Pat making sure her hair was done, make-up was perfect, and always had fresh flowers.  He loved his sons and adored his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Charles was a proud member of the Brownfield Masonic Lodge #903 and the Coleman Masonic Lodge #496.  He was member of the Lake Coleman Bible Study.

Preceding Charles in death are his parents, Judson and Bernice Moore; his loving wife, Patricia Moore; and two brothers, Roy Moore and James Moore.

Charles is survived by two sons, Gary Moore and wife Paula of Levelland and Neal Moore and wife Stephanie of Merkel; four grandchildren, Derek Moore and wife Kristi of Levelland, Wendy Moore of Lubbock, Brandon Moore and wife Jordan of Lubbock, and Christopher Moore and wife Sarah of Abilene; his great-grandchildren, Brayden Moore, Brody Moore, Blayke Moore, Jase Moore, Jaxon Moore, and Wade Moore; and one brother, Gordon Moore and wife Lois of Hattiesburg, Mississippi.
