Carolyn Arnold Perkins, born on March 1, 1946, in Coleman, Texas, passed away on February 18, 2026, in Silver Spring Nursing Home and Rehabilitation, in Abilene, Texas. Throughout her life, Carolyn embodied love, dedication, and kindness, touching the hearts of those who had the privilege to know her.

A beloved wife, Carolyn was married to David T. Perkins on June 1, 1963, and they celebrated an incredible 62 years of marriage. Their journey together began in Coleman, where they spent many years before relocating to Abilene about 16 years ago. Carolyn was a devoted member of the Church of Christ in Santa Anna while living in Coleman, finding joy in her faith community.

Carolyn's passion for giving back to her community was evident in her volunteer work at the Senior Center, both in Coleman and in Abilene. She was known for her spirited support of her great-granddaughters, attending every activity they participated in, and proudly cheering them on from the sidelines.

A woman of many talents, Carolyn enjoyed sewing and took great delight in sharing this craft with her great-granddaughters. She was also an avid enthusiast of Word Search puzzles and loved playing Canasta. Her love for the outdoors was exemplified through her experiences camping, particularly at Hords Creek Lake in Coleman County, where she made cherished memories with family and friends.

Carolyn is survived by her husband, David T. Perkins, her son, David W. Perkins, and his wife, Scharlette of Abilene. She is also survived by her granddaughters, Rosanne Slott and husband David of Abilene and Jessica Massey and husband Joshua of Abilene. Additionally, she leaves behind her loving great-grandchildren: Quinn Baidas, Devin Jackson, Elizabeth Massey, Nickolas Jackson, Dixie Massey, and Avery Jackson.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Marie, her brothers Ralph Arnold and Gene Arnold, and her sister Betty Shields.
