Bryan Maurice Bourland

Bryan Maurice Bourland, age 58, passed away November 14, 2017, in Muskogee, Oklahoma. A visitation will be held on Sunday, November 19, from 12 noon until 1:30 p.m., at Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W. Pecan Street, Coleman, followed by a service at 2:00 p.m. in the Coleman Cemetery Pavilion with Rev. Gaylan McClellan officiating. Interment will be in the family plot in Coleman Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home, Coleman.

Bryan was born October 30, 1959, in Coleman, Texas. He grew up in Coleman and was the son of Perry and Ileta Bourland. He graduated from Coleman High School in 1978 as Salutatorian. He won many honors with his trumpet playing. He worked in the office of the City of Coleman for 14 years and as a correctional officer in the Daniel Unit in Snyder, Texas. He married Delema Andales from Cebu, Philippines in 2006 and they celebrated almost 12 years of happiness together. He loved serving our Lord, leading the singing as song director at Concho Baptist Church in Coleman and later in Rising Star, Texas. He participated in Little League and Senior League Baseball and was always ready to help wherever needed. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Coleman, where, while growing up he served in the Youth Departments, and Calvary Baptist Church in Muskogee, Oklahoma.

He was preceded in death by his dad, Perry Bourland, and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Cope, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas J. Plante and Luther Lyle Bourland.

He is survived by his loving wife, Delema and mother, Ileta; his sister, Cecelia and husband Dan Williams of Gorman; his brother, Aaron and wife Becky Bourland of Lubbock and several nephews and nieces.

Isaiah 66:1 in quoting the prophet says:

Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool.

What kind of house will you build for me?

Says the Lord

Oh where will my resting place be?

Has not my hand made all these things?
