Bruce Wayne Terry left his earthly life on September 20, 2026, for his heavenly home. Bruce was a successful farmer and rancher as evidence of his Outstanding Cooperator of 1978 award by Central Colorado Soil and Water Conservation District, and Outstanding Farmer for 1996 Farmer of the year awarded by Coleman County.

Bruce loved his land and the life of a farmer and rancher. Bruce met the love of his life, Lugene in his hay lot and they were married for 12 years. One of Bruce’s favorite saying about me: “I did not smoke, or drink, gamble, or run around with wild women. “I still don’t smoke.”

Bruce had not traveled much only to go see his friend Jim & Renee Woodward in the Austin, Texas area and to take his mother to visit his sister when they lived in Pennsylvania.

We took an Alaska cruise, then to Las Vegas to see the sights. He naturally enjoyed seeing the stones they had in front of one of the casinos more than anything, Niagara Falls in the fall to see the colors, then a trip to Arkansas to see where his mother’s family had lived.

Bruce would laugh and tell me life is great. Yes, we had lots of love and laughter. His parents John and Esther Terry and sister Mary Alice Terry Larson preceded him in death. Bruce is survived by his wife Lugene Terry, stepchildren Glenna Flippin, and J G Flippin, a brother Ralph and Michelle Terry of Coleman, nieces Ingrid & Devin, Sean and Liam McGintry of San Antonio, Lisa and Aron Read of New Jersey , and Amanda and Marc and Liv Vives of New Jersey, and brother-in law Don Larson of New Jersey.

The family of Bruce wants to thank the staff of Holiday Hill Nursing Home and Hospice for the care they gave him.

A memorial service for Bruce will be held at First Baptist Church in Santa Anna, Texas, and will be officiated by Brother David McLean on Tuesday, September 29, 2026 at 11:00 am. Services are under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.
