Billy Joe Alvey

Billy Alvey, age 86, of Coleman, died Sunday, February 6, 2022, at Bangs Nursing and Rehabilitation.

Family and friends are invited to a graveside funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 9, 2022, at the Coleman City Cemetery Pavilion. Interment will follow in the Coleman City Cemetery. Services are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W. Pecan Street, in Coleman.

He was born Billy Joe Alvey on November 30, 1935, in Coleman to William A. Alvey and Ora Lee Satterfield Alvey. Billy grew up in Coleman where he attended school. He worked as a filling station attendant and was a member of Bible Baptist Church. Billy loved to play dominoes, spend time with family, and could tell stories that you would never forget.

Billy is preceded in death by his parents, William and Ora Alvey.

He is survived by his brother, Ivan Dale Alvey and wife Barbara of Bangs; his nephew, Eddie Lee Alvey; his niece, Julie Fikes; his great niece, Cynthia Folley; and his great-nephew, Tyler Alvey.
