Beckey Bethel passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at Oak Ridge Manor Nursing Home in Brownwood, Texas. Born on December 6, 1953, in Dallas, Texas, Beckey's life was marked by her loving nature, outgoing personality, and the deep affection she held for her family and friends.
Beckey grew up in Farmers Branch and Carrollton, where she attended school and laid the foundation for a life enriched by community and connection. Her career as a dedicated nail technician spanned many years, during which she made countless friends who admired her warmth and skill. Expanding her passion for connection and community, Beckey opened Boot Scooters bar in Coleman, Texas. This venture further extended her circle of friends and public presence, making her a beloved figure in the local area.
Her personal joys included the companionship of her cherished dogs—Cassie, Journey, and Munchkin—and the simple, soothing pleasure of popping bubbles while watching the television series Yellowstone and Dutton Ranch. These moments reflected her easygoing spirit and a tender approach to life’s small delights.
Beckey is survived by her devoted children: James Stewart and his wife Sharon, Shane Lee Stewart, and Marjorie Stewart. She found immense joy and pride in her grandchildren—Meagan Stewart, John Thomas Stewart, and Bradley, Josh, Alex, and Halie—as well as in her five great-grandchildren, all of whom meant the world to her. She is also lovingly remembered by her sister, Patricia Davis.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leroy Russell and Cassada Marie Trovaugh; her two husbands, James Thomas Stewart and Ronnie Bethel; and her siblings, Ricky Russell, Debra Snail, and Vickie Hensley. Their memories remain a cherished part of her story.
A visitation to honor Beckey’s memory will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2026, from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM at Stevens Funeral Home, located at 400 W Pecan St, Coleman, TX. This will be immediately followed by a funeral service celebrating her remarkable life at 3:00 pm. Services are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home.
Beckey Bethel’s life was a testament to love, friendship, and the impact of genuine kindness. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her spirit lives on in the hearts of those she touched so profoundly.
We invite you to share fond memories and words of comfort and condolence with the Bethel family by signing the guestbook on Beckey’s tribute page at www.stevensfuneralhome.com. Stevens Funeral Home is honored to serve the Bethel and Stewart family.
