Barbara J. Wright

Barbara J. Wright, 75, of Coleman, passed away Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at Coleman County Medical Center. Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 3, 2017 at Concho Baptist Church, 1700 South Concho Street, Coleman, with Rev. Daniel Stovall and Rev. Bill Campbell officiating. Burial will be in the Coleman City Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.

She was born Barbara Janette Dunham on September 12, 1942 in Brownwood, to Everett Dunham and Ima Gene Geer Dunham. At two weeks of age, Barbara and her family moved to Kermit. She grew up in Kermit and attended school there. On June 27, 1959, she married Charles W. Wright in Kermit. Barbara and Charles moved to Coleman in 1992. She was a member of Concho Baptist Church.

Barbara was a devoted wife, mother and meemaw. She was loved and admired by so many people and never met a stranger. She made everyone laugh wherever she went. Her outlook on life was positive and she lived life to the fullest. Her faith in the Lord and Savior was strong and she always lived through him.

Survivors include her husband, Charles W. Wright of Coleman; one son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Sheryl Wright of Kermit; one daughter and son-in-law, Misti and Kevin Landers of Coleman; two brothers, Bobby Dunham of Kermit, Gary Wayne Ferguson of Kermit and one sister, Sherrie Slaughter of Hurst. Barbara is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and one on the way, and several nieces, nephews, and cousin.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Michael Wright.

There will be a visitation with the family from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Saturday, December 2, 2017 at Stevens Funeral Home, 400 West Pecan Street, Coleman.

In memory of Barbara, the family has suggested memorial donations be made to the Concho Baptist Church Youth Group.
