Anita Dela Rosa Diaz

Anita Dela Rosa Diaz, age 87, of Coleman, died Thursday, May 17, 2018, at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene.  Funeral Mass will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 23, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Laurent Mvondo officiating.  Interment will follow in the Coleman City Cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home, Coleman.

She was born January 7, 1931 in Coleman, a daughter of Jesus Dela Rosa and Margaret Holguin Dela Rosa.  She grew up in Coleman and attended school here.  On May 1, 1950, she married Moyses Diaz in Coleman and he preceded her in death on February 4, 1991.  She was a homemaker.  Mrs. Diaz was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.  She was a devoted wife and mother and will be deeply missed by her family.

She is survived by one daughter, Patricia Ann Reyna and husband Danny of Austin; two grandchildren, Andres Reyna and Nicolas Reyna, both of Austin; brothers and sisters, Lillie Gonzales of Coleman, Becky Utley of Fort Worth, Louis Dela Rosa of Chico, Sally Calderon of Coleman, Sammy Dela Rosa of Coleman and Jessie Dela Rosa of Coleman; numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, two daughters, Mary Jane Diaz, who died at birth, and Margaret Ann Diaz, who died October 15, 2010; a brother, Paul Dela Rosa and a sister, Jean Gonzales.

Rosary will be Monday at 7:00 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W. Pecan Street, Coleman, Texas.

The family suggests memorials be made to the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 303 E. College, Coleman, Texas 76834.
