Andy D. Young, age 90, of Coleman, died Monday, December 28, 2020 at Wisteria Place Nursing and Rehabilitation in Abilene.

Mr. Young will lie in state starting at 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at Stevens Funeral Home.  A funeral service will be 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel, 400 W. Pecan Street, in Coleman with Bob Martin, pulpit minister at Elm Street Church of Christ, officiating.  Interment will be in the Burkett Cemetery.  Services are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home in Coleman.  The funeral service will be live-streamed and available to view for 90 days.  To view the live stream, go to www.livingmemorials.com and click on the obituary page for Andy.  The live stream will be at the bottom of his obituary page.

He was born Andy Dale Young on September 7, 1930 in Burkett to Andy A. Young and Margaret Elizabeth Arthur Young.  He grew up in Burkett and graduated from Burkett High School.  On April 4, 1951, Andy Enlisted in the United States Army.  He proudly served his country and received an Honorable Discharge on March 18, 1953.  Andy worked as an inspector for Lone Star Gas Company in Abilene and retired after 31 years.  He married Barbara Watson Freeman on September 23, 1992 in Johnson City.  Andy loved Coleman County and supported many organizations throughout the years.  He helped Barbara Brown with C.H. Hale Prostate Cancer Foundation from its inception, now known as the C.H. Hale Foundation.  Andy volunteered for years taking tickets for the talent show fundraisers and participated in many cancer walks.  He was a board member at the Coleman Senior Center where he volunteered for the meals on wheels for 22 years and volunteered for 20 years at Loaves and Fishes Food Ministry in Coleman.  Andy was a member of the Farm Bureau and the Elm Street Church of Christ.

Andy is joined in heaven by his parents; and three brothers, Tom Young, Roy D. Young, and Boyd B. Young.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Young of Coleman; two sons, James D. Young and Robert M. Young; his stepson, Michael J. Freeman; his grandson, Austin Freeman; two great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Elyzabell Young and Lela Young; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
