Alyene Trewitt

Alyene Trewitt, 89, of Coleman, died Thursday, March 22, 2018 at Coleman County Medical Center. Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 24, 2018 at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel, 400 West Pecan Street, Coleman. Burial will be in the Coleman City Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.

She was born Sylvia Alyene Laws on October 31, 1928 in Coleman to Dewitt Clinton Laws and Martha Annie Welty Laws. She grew up in Coleman and graduated valedictorian of her class at Coleman High School. On December 27, 1968, she married Tom Trewitt in Colorado City. They lived in Colorado City for five years, before moving to Coleman. Alyene was a bookkeeper and a member of Elm Street Church of Christ.

Survivors in three daughters, Iris Hayes-Parker and husband, Randy, of Abilene, Patricia Hayes of Coleman, Cheryl Mitchell and husband, Larry, of Lake Brownwood; one son, Dan Hayes and wife, Sheila, of Blackwell; five grandchildren, Kelly Hayes, Nathan Hayes, Steven Hayes, Alisha Byerly and Jay Lamar. She is also survived by 10 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom, on February 19, 1991 and her brother, Clinton Laws on August 17, 2016.

There will be a visitation from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at Stevens Funeral Home.
